Long-Term Student Parking

CU Boulder offers flexible student parking options for those living on or commuting to campus. Permits are lot-specific and vary based on your schedule and parking needs.

Permit Options

Students can choose between Academic Year and Semester Permits, which are assigned to a specific lot and valid 24/7. These permits go on sale during specific windows, so it’s important to check dates early.

For more flexibility, daily permits are also available through CU’s parking portal. There’s also an Off-Peak Permit option—valid weekdays from 3 p.m. to 9 a.m., plus all day on weekends.

Virtual Parking Access

CU Boulder uses License Plate Recognition (LPR) to track permits, meaning no physical pass is needed.

Just make sure your license plate is entered correctly in their system—your plate is your permit.

Waitlists

If a lot fills up, you can join a waitlist and will be notified by email if space opens up. Students can register multiple vehicles, but only one may be parked on campus at any given time.

Refunds & Cancellations

Students can cancel their permit at any time for a prorated refund. Just be sure to email Parking Services in advance—refunds aren’t backdated.
